User stories help you to empathise with the people who are going to use your product. Writing user stories forces you to think about how your product will help the people using it do something, achieve some goal.
It’s a simple method that results in a set of short stories. These stories are an excellent reference mechanism for checking your design. At any stage of the design process, you should read your user stories out loud and ask the question; would this user be happy with the design as it is?
