Design Anthology wins two Good Design Awards for 2026

We’re proud to share that Design Anthology has received two Good Design Awards in 2026: a Gold Tick for Educational Resuscitation Systems (ERS) and a Green Tick for FRAGTrack Gen 4.

The two products couldn’t be more different, but the approach behind both was the same.

Look beyond the brief. Find the unseen opportunities. Make the complex simple. Create products that work in the real world, are built to scale and deliver lasting value for businesses, users and the wider community.

ERS: Gold Tick, Product: Medical and Scientific

ERS is an affordable, compact training kit for remote CPR and first aid assessment, developed for Transformational Solutions.

Traditional training manikins are bulky, heavy, expensive and costly to ship, making it difficult to deliver training and assessment in regional and remote areas. We set out to change that.

The clever part is that the product is also the packaging.

Made from polypropylene core flute, the material provides the structure, patented hinge and spring mechanism needed to simulate CPR compressions. One product supports both baby and adult CPR training, while additional accessories extend its use to AED, EpiPen, spacer and asthma puffer training.

By combining the product and packaging into one simple design, we reduced freight costs, packaging and the number of components required. The product can also be reused, refurbished and redeployed, and is recyclable at the end of its life.

Getting there involved plenty of testing. We explored cardboard, foam and other materials before settling on core flute, then completed a 200-unit pilot production run to refine the design and manufacturing process.

For Transformational Solutions, the result is a more affordable, scalable product that simplifies remote assessments and opens up opportunities in new markets around the world.

For learners, it means access to essential CPR and first aid training without the time and expense of travelling or paying for accommodation. Training and assessment can now be completed almost anywhere, at a time that suits them.

What the Good Design Awards jury said

The jury described ERS as a compelling example of purpose-driven design that puts access, equity and lifesaving impact first.

They praised the integration of the product, packaging and kit organisation into one compact system, along with the clever use of core flute to deliver structure, spring, durability and recyclability.

Their final comment summed it up nicely: they called ERS a “genuinely worthwhile contribution that expands access to CPR training at scale.”

FRAGTrack Gen 4: Green Tick, Product: Commercial and Industrial

FRAGTrack is Orica Digital Solutions’ system for continuously monitoring and measuring fragmentation outcomes after a blast, helping mines make better decisions, optimise blast outcomes and improve downstream efficiencies.

Gen 4 needed to operate reliably on mine sites around the world, withstanding dust, vibration, water and temperatures ranging from −40°C to +60°C, while being easier to install, maintain and service than previous generations.

Working collaboratively with Orica Digital Solutions and Syndetic, we brought together advanced technology, industrial design and engineering to deliver a compact, rugged and modular product built for the demands of mining operations worldwide.

The result is a robust, sealed system that can be installed across a wide range of mining equipment, from excavators and loaders through to fixed plant.

Its modular design makes installation and servicing simpler, while protecting the advanced technology inside from the harsh conditions experienced on mine sites.

For Orica Digital Solutions, this means a more versatile product that is easier to deploy, maintain and scale across mining operations globally.

What the Good Design Awards jury said

The jury described FRAGTrack Gen 4 as a well-executed industrial design that balances rugged functionality with thoughtful engineering.

They highlighted the attention given to waterproofing, sealing and durability, along with the modular design and straightforward installation, as evidence of a strong understanding of the demands of the mining industry.

They were also impressed by the integration of advanced machine vision and patented geospatial technology into such a compact and robust product.

One comment particularly stood out: the jury noted the product’s “sense of character in an industry typically focused purely on function.”

Two very different products. One approach to good design.

For us, good design isn’t just about how something looks. It’s about understanding the problem, challenging the way things have always been done and finding smarter, simpler ways to deliver better outcomes.

Whether that’s making lifesaving training more accessible or helping mining operations work more efficiently, the goal is the same: create practical products that deliver real value for the people using them and the businesses bringing them to market.

A big thank you to Transformational Solutions, Orica Digital Solutions and Syndetic for trusting us and working alongside us on these projects.

And congratulations to everyone at Design Anthology who contributed. It’s great to see the team’s hard work recognised.
